Last ever match I went to see at White Hart Lane: Tottenham Hotspur 6-0 Millwall, Sunday 12th March 2017, FA Cup Quarter Finals.

My first visit to White Hart Lane came in 2006 when Spurs played Blackburn in a thrilling 3-2 win with Robbie Keane netting both times for Spurs. I have been to White Hart Lane quite a few times due to family supporting them, so have a soft spot for Tottenham and go to watch them as much as I can. I always enjoy going to White Hart Lane, the atmosphere is usually fairly decent at Spurs. In some parts of the ground, the legroom isn't at all great, but in most parts the seating legroom is good. Very easy to get to on the train, the nearest station is White Hart Lane station, a 5 minute walk from the station. Also Seven Sisters is around a 20 minute walk and Bruce Grove station is fairly near as well. I would recommend coming out of the ground and turning left, walking down the road towards Bruce Grove station for coming out of the ground for games as usually White Hart Lane is fairly packed, so would recommend walking to Bruce Grove just to save time.

SPURS VS GILLINGHAM VISIT; SEPTEMBER 2016

Tottenham Hotspur 5-0 Gillingham
Wednesday 21st September 2016
EFL Cup 3rd Round

Well, this is the tie I have been waiting for since I was young. As most of you might be aware, I'm of course a Gills fan through and through but I have always followed Spurs and had a soft spot for them due to family supporting them. I went to my first game at White Hart Lane back in 2006, so followed them now for a number of years. When the tie got announced, I was absolutely over the moon. I was on my way home after being out for the evening and after getting a message of my mate Dave on Facebook saying we've been drawn away to Spurs, I thought he was joking at first but after looking on Facebook and Twitter, I was going mental in the car home haha. So of course I was waiting to see what day it was announced as I made a fair deal with my deputy boss at work that I'd work either Tuesday or the Wednesday and I'd go to the game. So as the Wednesday got announced for Spurs away, I worked the day before. Anyway onto my visit once again to White Hart Lane, I left home just after half 3 to get my train tickets and then left Paddock Wood just after 4, and got into Strood and met up with Dave and his brother in law. Left Strood just after 5 and got into St Pancras around 40 minutes later. Grabbed a McDonald's and got to the ground just before 7. It did make me laugh when we got to the ground, as of course you'll have the usual stewards etc, but after checking my bag, I noticed the stewards didn't take off the lid of my bottle but yet the stewards at Port Vale on the Saturday took it off, which did make me laugh. But ah well. Anyway onto the game, after seeing a lot of comments on Twitter and the forums, a lot of people were disappointed on how we played with no passion and no desire. I do agree, but at the end of the day, I wasn't expecting anything at Tottenham anyway, and I think had we give it our all, I think we would have lost. On the night we just got outclassed, and clubs like Spurs has millions of pounds, and we don't. 5-0 was probably a deserved result for Spurs, just glad it wasn't more! Anyway after the game, we walked to Bruce Grove as it was the easier option rather than walking to White Hart Lane station afterwards and queuing for god knows how long. After that, I got back to Charing Cross about 20 to 11 and got home just after midnight. Great night out, just the result that was disappointing. Roll on Coventry at home next game, a massive game.

LAST EVER VISIT TO WHITE HART LANE; SPURS 6-0 MILLWALL 12/3/17;

Tottenham Hotspur 6-0 Millwall
Sunday 12th March 2017
FA Cup Quarter Finals

It was a game that probably happened on the off chance and quite lucky to get tickets for. My mate Dan who is a huge Spurs fan and follows Gills messaged me on Facebook a couple of weeks ago or so now saying he might be able to get me a couple of tickets for the Spurs - Millwall game, would I be interested? And of course I wanted to take my Dad to a last visit to the Lane before Spurs move to Wembley for a season temporarily before moving to the new ground on the same site, so of course I snapped his hand off. I wasn't getting my hopes up too much as sometimes applying for tickets, it's basically a draw. And luckily Dan was able to get me 2 tickets which I was delighted with. And even more so, it was of course Spurs vs Millwall which could potentially kick off but could be a feisty game as well. So anyway, the day came and I was quite excited myself on returning to the Lane for 1 last time. I woke up around 10.20am, got myself ready and had some breakfast and left home just before 11am. Got into London around 12ish and a quick tube ride between Charing Cross and Seven Sisters, then onto White Hart Lane, me and Dad arrived into White Hart Lane around 12.45pm. After taking a few pics outside of the ground, eventually went into the ground about 1. After finding our seats, as always I was quite impressed with the view. (Pic below)

The game itself wasn't really I expected. I expected Millwall to put up with more of a fight, but it wasn't to be. I don't think Millwall were bad, I don't think they really had a sniff of the game. Spurs were just a class above, and the scoreline pretty much says it all really. Millwall started off ok and for the first 25 minutes of the game, it was 0-0 and took some time for Spurs to get the 1st goal. But as soon as Spurs scored, even though it was pretty much looked like 1 way traffic, although with Spurs going into the break at 2-0 up, the next goal would have been crucial. Had Millwall get the next goal, it would have been slightly interesting but Spurs were just a class above anyway. It was disappointing to see Harry Kane go off injured after 2 minutes, but Spurs didn't really need him anyway. A hat-trick for Heung Min-Son, goals for Christian Eriksen, Deli Alli and Vincent Janssen got the other goals. I have to say brilliant atmosphere in the South Stand lower at Spurs, hardly stopped singing all game. Didn't really hear from Millwall much apart from the Lions roar, but considering they were pretty much destroyed in the 2nd half, wasn't a surprise. Also good to see former Gills captain Adam Barrett on the pitch warming the Millwall players up before the game kicked off as he recently announced his retirement from professional football, a top bloke on and off the pitch. Overall a brilliant day, and great to see my last ever visit to White Hart Lane with a win for Tottenham. After the game, eventually got home just after half 6. After the game there was apparently trouble with Spurs and Millwall fans, but I didn't experience seeing any trouble after the game. Only major slight delays but nothing major but not surprised to hear that there was trouble. But yeah a decent day!
